The story of the Möhkö ironworks in the Finlands easternmost village is full of fascinating stories. Our permanent exhibitions tell about the life during the times of ironworks, war history and the times of vaste logging sites and log floatings. During the guided tour the visitor meets office employee Sutinen, becomes quiet by the war history of Möhkö village and becomes surprised by the place laws from the beginning of the 1900´s. The landscape of Möhkö is full of stories which the guide paints to been seen for the group. The blast furnaces are radiating the heat, the soldiers of the Red Army are hiding in the forests and the log floaters are walking along the river.

Program description: 

The goup arrives at the Möhkö ironworks, where the guide is waiting for them. The guided tour begins from the Pytinki where the visitors are given the introduction to the exhibitions of ironworks and was time. The guided tour continues in the shop building Amabari where is the exhibition Forested Möhkö. After request the guide also lead the group to the garden, smithy and the ruins of blast furnaces. 

Possibility to buy souvenirs from the gift shop Möhkö ironworks.

The program can include with an extra fee a coffee or a lunch at the summer café Möhkön Manta or Mantan Majatalo Guest House.
